Official Visit to the New Sorting Line at MPGK Katowice – SIGMA S.A. Project Complete!

Another technological waste sorting line modernized by SIGMA S.A. is already running at full speed! The success of this undertaking was presented on July 14, 2026, during an official visit to the Waste Recovery and Disposal Plant of the Municipal Waste Management Company (MPGK Sp. z o.o.) in Katowice.

The event was aimed at presenting the results of the modernization. Many distinguished guests appeared on site – the visitors of the new hall included, among others, representatives of local and state authorities, as well as decision-making officials responsible for environmental protection. They had the opportunity to see with their own eyes how the solutions implemented by our team work in practice.

As SIGMA S.A., we were responsible for the comprehensive execution of the task – from the technical design, through the change of technology, to the construction of the new line and the installation of equipment. To optimize the investor's budget, we implemented solutions combining our modern technology with the use of still operational equipment that MPGK already possessed.

As a result, the entire technological process has been automated. The line guarantees a safe, fully monitored sorting process with increased accuracy and an impressive capacity of 39,000 tons of waste per year.

We are honored that MPGK Katowice entrusted this key task to our team. They are a partner who focuses on innovation and real ecology – which is evidenced by, among other things, the hermetization of the halls (protecting residents from nuisances) and powering the plant with energy from their own photovoltaic farms, built on a reclaimed landfill. Cooperating with such a socially responsible investor is always a reason to be proud for us.
